Scope of processing
‘Personal data’ means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (hereinafter referred to as the ‘data subject’). A natural person is regarded as identifiable if they can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.
TenneT is the consortium leader of the energy data-X research project. TenneT is therefore responsible for project organisation and data management. Several hundred people are expected to be involved, including partners and external stakeholders.

As a data subject within the meaning of the GDPR, you generally have the following rights:
You have the right to obtain information about your processed data (Art. 15 GDPR) and to have inaccurate or incomplete personal data corrected or completed.
Subject to certain legal conditions, you have the right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), to receive or transfer (Art. 20 GDPR), and to object to the processing (Art. 21 GDPR) of your personal data.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). To do so, you may, for example, contact the data protection supervisory authority.
You have the right to withdraw your consent: you may withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time with future effect and request the immediate erasure of your personal data. The lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of your consent up until the time of withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal. The erasure of personal data can only take place if there is no other legal basis for the processing. Please send your notice of withdrawal to our Data Protection Officer at datenschutz@tennet.eu.

TenneT obtains personal data either directly from project participants or stakeholders (e.g. via the contact form provided on the website) or indirectly via project participants or representatives of organisations.
Disclosure, cross-border processing and data processing in third countries
The service provider ADACOR Hosting GmbH (Emmastraße 70a, 45130 Essen) has access to your personal data to the extent necessary to fulfil the aforementioned purposes.
TenneT endeavours to use only data processors within the European Union. If TenneT intends to transfer personal data to a third country outside the European Union, TenneT will inform you explicitly and in good time of the planned transfer, the legal basis for it and the nature of the protection afforded to your personal data following the transfer.
When you use the contact form, only TenneT TSO GmbH will have access to the data. In individual cases, your enquiry may be passed on to project partners to clarify the matter.
Personal data may be shared within the TenneT Group (with TenneT GmbH & Co. KG).
Legal basis, purpose and duration of storage
We process personal data in accordance with data protection regulations.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR), the performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR) or a legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).
The purpose of collecting, storing and further processing your personal data is to enable you to access this website.
We delete or destroy personal data once the purpose has been fulfilled (project completion) or if the purpose for which the data was collected no longer applies. The duration of storage depends on the intended purpose and may therefore vary in scope and duration, but will be no later than upon project completion.
